Almost every enquiry starts the same way. “How much for a 2 BHK?” And almost every mover gives the same useless answer — “depends, madam”. It does depend, but not on anything mysterious. Here is the actual arithmetic.
Local moves inside Bangalore
A 1 RK runs ₹3,000 to ₹6,500. A 1 BHK, ₹5,500 to ₹11,000. A 2 BHK, ₹8,500 to ₹17,000. A 3 BHK, ₹13,000 to ₹24,000. Those bands are wide because three things move the number more than distance does.
Your floor, and whether the lift works
Third floor with no lift can add two hours and two extra men. That is the single biggest swing in a local move. Movers who quote without asking about the lift are guessing.
How much you actually have
Two families in identical 2 BHKs can have loads that differ by half. A sofa set, a double-door fridge and a six-seater dining table change the vehicle you need.
The distance, a little
Within Bangalore, distance matters less than people expect. Koramangala to Whitefield and Koramangala to Jayanagar cost about the same. What differs is traffic time, and that shows up in labour hours.
Going out of the city
A 2 BHK from Bangalore to Chennai lands around ₹22,000 to ₹30,000. To Mumbai, ₹28,000 to ₹40,000. To Delhi, ₹32,000 to ₹45,000. Shared container is cheaper and slower; a dedicated truck costs more and leaves when you want.
What should already be included
Packing material, labour at both ends, loading, transport, unloading, and reassembly of furniture. If any of that is a separate line item, you are looking at a quote designed to grow.
What is genuinely extra
- Transit insurance, if you want it
- Storage, if the dates do not line up
- Wooden crating for very fragile items on long routes
- Car or bike transport
The one number to ask about
Advance. Twenty to thirty per cent is normal. Anyone asking for the full amount before your goods move is either desperate or dishonest, and both are your problem.
