We do the second. Your vehicle is loaded onto a carrier, strapped at four points, and photographed before it leaves and again on delivery. The fuel tank goes down to a quarter, personal items come out, and you keep the keys.

A car within India runs ₹9,000 to ₹22,000 depending on distance and whether the carrier is open or covered. A two-wheeler costs ₹4,000 to ₹9,000 and travels wrapped, in the same container as household goods if you are moving both.
