When Your Dates Do Not Match: Storage Between Two Houses

You hand over on the 30th. The new place is ready on the 10th. Eleven days, and a house full of things with nowhere to be.

What not to do

Leaving goods loaded in a truck for a week is expensive and bad for them. Stacking everything at a relative’s place usually ends in damage and awkwardness. Neither is worth it.

How warehouse storage works

We pack and load from your old house exactly as we would for a normal move. Goods go into a covered warehouse, wrapped and stacked on pallets off the floor, with an inventory you get a copy of. When you have keys, we deliver and unpack.

What it costs

Priced by volume and by month. A 2 BHK worth of goods is usually a few thousand rupees a month. Billing is monthly and there is no penalty for taking things out early.

What to check before you store anywhere

  • Is it a covered warehouse or a container in an open yard?
  • Are goods on pallets or on bare floor?
  • Is there an inventory list, and do you get a copy?
  • Can you access your things if you need something?
  • What is the pest control routine?

What not to store

Food, plants, anything perishable, and documents you might suddenly need. Keep those with you.
