How to Choose Packers and Movers in Bangalore Without Getting Burnt

There are hundreds of moving companies in Bangalore and a good number of them are one man with a phone who subcontracts your job to whoever is free. Here is how to tell the difference in ten minutes.

Ask who is actually doing the job

Straight question: “Is this your crew and your vehicle, or are you giving it to someone else?” A broker will hedge. It is not automatically bad — but you should know who will be at your door.

Check the address on Maps

Not the website — Google Maps, with photos. A real business has a real godown somewhere. If the address is a residential flat with no signage, ask why.

Read Google reviews, not testimonials

Anyone can write glowing testimonials on their own site. Google reviews are harder to fake and much harder to delete. Read the three-star ones — they are usually the honest ones.

Get the quote in writing

WhatsApp is fine. What matters is that the number, and what it includes, exists somewhere you can point at later.

Watch the advance

Twenty to thirty per cent is standard. Full payment upfront is a red flag every single time.

Ask about the awkward stuff

What happens if the lift is not working? What if delivery is delayed? What if something breaks? A company that has answers has been asked before. A company that gets vague has not.

The cheapest quote

If one quote is dramatically below the others, there is a reason. Usually the price goes up once your goods are loaded, and at that point you have very little leverage.
